Great First at Goodwood
The Festival of Speed broadcasted in French
The 2025 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed will go down in history as the first to be live-streamed with French commentary.
Once again this year, significant resources were deployed for live-streaming the event on YouTube: 50 cameras, 20 kilometers of cables, and 180 people mobilised. And for the first time, the event was broadcast bilingually – in English and French.
This initiative by the organisers demonstrates their interest in French manufacturers, collectors, and spectators. The country was particularly well represented this year, with the official presence of Alpine and Alain Prost, an iconic figure among the prominent stars invited to celebrate 75 years of Formula 1.
The Classic Media team is thrilled to have been involved in this groundbreaking event. Julien, Geoffroy, and Pierre-Yves had the pleasure of sharing their expertise with a community of 40,000 French-speaking listeners. Over four days, the three commentators spent over forty hours on the microphones presenting nearly 600 vehicles – cars and motorcycles – from all eras and disciplines.
